It's unusual to find this flame pattern in wood. Apparently it comes from the tree's having been attacked by ants. It makes a very special color. This is a rare wood that I use with great care.

Each of my perfume bottles contains a glass vial with a screw-on lid. Here, it's the top round knob that holds the lid. This is an especially stable perfume bottle.

The finish is 3 coats of Deft lacquer. The 3 coats are important for water resistance. I've put a coat of Renaissance wax on the cured lacquer, so the perfume bottle is well protected.
