Padauk & Holly Wooden Ornament:

Padauk is a wood that I've used almost from the beginning of my woodworking. It has a rich orange color that gradually darkens with age.

Holly is relatively new to me. It is a joy to find it in its pure white state. I have some holly trees in my own woods where I live. But I've never had the nerve to cut one down.

I love the contrast between the two colors of these woods. The shape of this ornament is one I learned from another woodturner, Mark Morrison from Mt. Hope, Wisconsin.
