Turned Wood Ornaments - Maple with Santa Fe

This is a very special ornament for me. It represents a special technique I have not seen any other wood turner do. This ornament is made from maple wood plus a composite wood called "Santa Fe." After experimenting for a while, I learned how to spread out the Santa Fe wood so it would make slightly different images on each side of the ball. I'm always thrilled to see how this technique works. It's exciting to see the four images come into view.
