![]() Turned Wood Bowl - Ambrosia Maple7.25" diameter, 2" high This Ambrosia Maple Turned Wood Bowl:The first time I saw a picture of a block of ambrosia maple wood, I was dazzled by the intriguing patterns in it. Later I read that the beautiful figures are caused by ambrosia beetles invading the maple tree. Does this make the wood more beautiful, or less? Finally I found a piece of ambrosia maple large enough to make this turned bowl. To my eyes, the ambrosia markings lend the bowl a mysterious air. I couldn't wait to finish this turning to see what markings would be left. More turned wood bowls:
