Handmade wooden bowls

...can be tricky. This Camphor bowl almost did me in. The camphor scent really opened my sinuses. Turning this bowl, my sinuses were not just opened, but dripping! I had to leave the shop because of the camphor fumes. Then I had to stay way from the shop for a few days, not feeling up to working.

Now that the bowl is done, the scent is barely noticeable.

It was some time later that I turned the lid. I loved the combination of the dark camphor wood with the light colored maple burl. Also I love the thinness of the bowl and lid. This is one of my best pieces so far.
